Our cheesemongers recommend their top 5 products

As cheesemongers, we love learning about what you like and how you live and entertain to recommend cheeses and products that we think you will love.

Whilst doing this face to face is not possible at the moment, we’ve taken the chance to ask our Cheesemongers Alex, Olivia and Tash to recommend the products that they love. We’ve bundled up their top 5 ready for you to purchase for CLICK & COLLECT or delivery straight to you.

Alex’s Fab Five $58

Alex’s Fab Five focuses on the go–to’s for when the weather begins to cool.

Hafod Organic Cheddar from Ceredigion in Wales. Put this atop Millers Elements Ale Crackers ,French Cornichons & add a nice mineral-rich Chardonnay. An old favourite of mine from my time spent with Movida is Monte Enebro. A semi hard sheeps milk cheese shaped in a log or “mules leg”(pata de mulo), with a strong blue mould rind, hailing from central Spain near Madrid. Great with a baguette or our Housemade Lavosh that our chef Ian relentlessly rolls out every day. These are the essentials in my house.” – Alex

Tash’s Fab Five $75

Tash’s Fab Five include a secret ingredient for Roast Lamb.

“While my shopping list changes from time to time these items are still on top; Epoisses de Bourgogne AOC a savoury sunset-hued washed rind, City Larder Free Range Chicken Liver PateSheridan’s Rye and Linseed BiscuitsCunliffe and Waters Caramelised Fig and Quince Jam – My fridge is empty without a jar of this, a wonderful accompaniment to cheese but also makes an exceptional glaze for roast lamb, Berry’s Creek Riverine Blue – Made from Buffalo milk in Gippsland, this is a real delight and one of my favourites” – Tash

Olivia’s Fab Five $95

Olivia’s Fab Five includes her favourite cheese in the whole world.

“It’s no secret that Stilton is my favourite cheese in the whole wide world and not just any Stilton – it must be Colston Bassett Stilton selected by Neal’s Yard Dairy. G.Cravero Parmigiano Reggiano  – what would I do without Giorgio in my life. Not only is he one of the loveliest people in the world, this is one of the loveliest cheeses in the world. Matured by the Cravero family in Bra, Piedmont, it is complex, sweet and fruity. Perfect on pasta, soups, salads and as an afternoon snack, it’s also a must have on a charcuterie board for me – my second food love after cheese.  It’s hard to pick a favourite so I’ll go with our ‘Assorted Charcuterie Selection’.  Sheridan’s Brown Bread Crackers are my go-to biscuit, made from just four ingredients and made for cheese by the cheese company that I worked for in Dublin a long time ago now. And Ortiz Anchovies, because they are just great to have on hand” – Olivia
