From an olive grove in the Grampians, Victoria, Mount Zero produce some of the finest olive oils in Australia. Suitable as an all-rounder for salads, cured meat and vegetables.
Mount Zero Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is one of the finest local oils. This 2020 vintage of Mount Zero Olive Oil is cold pressed from Australian grown Frantoio and Manzanilla olives. These classic varieties produce a balanced oil with a herbaceous aroma, subtle almond and walnut notes and a peppery finish. A great all-rounder for liberal lashings on salads, cured meats and vegetables. We also enjoy a drizzle over cheeses such a Pecorino or Manchego, Parmigiano Reggiano, feta or mozzarella.
A little history about Mount Zero
With a focus on sustainability & a passion for fine ingredients, Mount Zero produces one of the best oils on the market from their grove on the edge of The Grampians National Park in Victoria. The olive grove was planted in the 1940s and is one of the oldest olive groves in Australia.
A total of 6000 Spanish Manzanilla and Gordal Olive trees line the base of the Grampian's most northern summit - Mount Zero. Biodynamic farming techniques are used and the grove is self-sustaining in its farming practices - feeding the trees directly from the soil humus rather than chemical inputs and the energy supply is sourced from off-grid wind and solar generators.
