Le Dauphin Double Crème is an unusually shaped hexagonal soft cheese that takes its name from the term once used to describe the heir apparent to the throne of France. The use of a unique combination of traditions moulds & modern ultra-filtration techniques gives Le Dauphin its exceptionally soft, silky & velvet-like texture. This french soft cheese has a yeasty, mild buttery flavour & is a guaranteed crowd pleaser!
A little background Le Dauphin Double Crème
The wooden hexagon box is important because it protects the cheese & also creates a unique microenvironment for maturation. Made from rich cows milk collected from the beautiful lush green mountain pastures surrounding the Rhône Valley, Le Dauphin was specially created for Will Studd by Fromagerie Guilloteau.
Will Studd is a world-renowned cheese expert who has selected a range of cheeses based on their provenance, texture, aroma and flavour.
Probably our favourite soft cheese, but we still like to try others as well. We fine everyone likes this cheese, so it’s great for a platter with guests too.
If the seminal book 'How to Win Friends an Influence People' were a cheese, it would be this cheese. Le Dauphin is many people's favourite soft cheese, Jenny - you're in good company!
Mild, creamy and lush with just the right amount of gooey-ness. I ate this With some lavosh crackers and a glass of Pinot gris to celebrate the newly grantes picnic freedoms in Melbourne. Small pleasures!!
It's the small things that make life so pleasurable right now. Picnics with Le Dauphin and pinot gris sound perfect!
My- I just love this cheese. Not too strong and stinky and is super creamy- perfect balance
There's a reason we call this one a real crowd pleaser! Thanks for taking the time to write a review - we really appreciate it.
Definitely one of the best cheeses I have had. I had it as part of a gift pack and it was amazing by itself or paired.
