The King of Italian cheeses makes an appearance in our May cheese subscription box. G Cravero Parmigiano Reggianohas long been a favourite with its complex, fruity sweetness and nutty notes. A wedge of this accompanied by a glass of Prosecco will make someone a very happy camper.
We won’t make you say its Italian name (Il Forteto Boschetto al Tartufo) but this young pecorino-style cheese from Tuscany is certainly a mouth full. Made with a blend of ewes and cows milk plus some fresh white truffles, it is one of the few kinds of cheese to capture the true flavour of truffle.
From the UK we bring you Quickes Oak Smoked Cheddar. Oak trees from Home Farm Estate, which has been in the Quickes family for almost 500 years, provide the chips for the smoking process. Cold smoking ensures this cheddar maintains its moist texture while delivering a subtle smoky yet buttery flavour profile.
To round out our May Cheese Subscription Box we have local all-star Section28 Mont Rosso from the Adelaide Hills. This cheese not only melts beautifully but also holds its own on the plate. Underneath the brine-washed rind, you’ll find a smooth buttery paste with a delicate fruit flavour and lingering lactic finish.
