What would July be without an excuse to celebrate all things French and all things French naturally includes cheese. A country that boasts over 1,000 distinct types of cheese is our kind of place and this month we want to share four of our favourites with you in our July Cheese Subscription Box.

This white mould, cow’s milk cheese from Normandy, France is bold in flavour, reminiscent of cooked cauliflower and wet straw. The texture features a traditional line of chalk through the centre when young, developing to a deliciously fudgy texture as it ripens.
This soft, washed rind cows milk cheese is from the Franche Comte region of France. As the cheese ripens, the smooth pinkish rind starts to ripple and bulge, with the inside softening to a rich, creamy, melt-in-the-mouth texture with just a hint of the forest. A perfect cheese for baking so we’ll even include a recipe for you.
From the Midi-Pyrénées region of France, this blue cheese is made using only raw ewes milk and aged in the natural microclimate of the Combalou caves. Known as ‘King of French Cheeses’ it has been specially selected by Will Studd because of its rich, creamy texture, strong aromas, and lingering sweet-salty finish.
This hard cows milk cheese from the Jura region, France, exhibits a complex flavour profile resulting from a hands-on approach to maturation. The rich concentrated nutty texture & gentle caramel sweet honey flavour reflects the rich milk of the Montbéliard cattle that graze the natural mountain pastures.
