The 104th Grand Depart is on Saturday 1 July from the bank of the Rhine in the German town of Dusseldorf and finishes three weeks and 3,540 kilometres later on Sunday 23 July on the Champs Élysées in Paris.

From Germany, le Tour de France continues through Belgium & Luxembourg before heading around France.

Stage 1 - 4 - Lorraine & Alsace July 1 - 4


Cheese Choice - Munster AOC - mild & creamy washed rind from Alsace, pair with Peters Yard Sourdough Rye crackers & Australian Muscatels.


Stage 5 - 7 - Champagne & Burgundy July 5 - 7 


Cheese Choice - Langres AOC - washed rind cheese traditionally served with Champagne, pair with Sheridans Rye & Linseed Crackers.

Cheese Choice - Epoisses AOC - rich & silky washed rind from Bourgogne, pair with Barossa Bark nigella seeds lavosh & baby pickled figs.


Stage 8 - Franche Comte July 8

Cheese Choice - Fromager des Clarines - soft cheese from Franche Comte, ready to bake (click here for recipe) in its own ceramic pot 250g, serve with Picos bread sticks & cornichons.

Cheese Choice - Marcel Petite Comte AOC - unpasteurised classic French mountain cheese, supple texture with sweet creamy overtones, pair with Bundarra Berkshire Little French Ham for a lazy Saturday night supper.

Stage 12 - 14  - Midi Pyrenees July 13 - 15

Cheese Choices - 2 semi hard ewes milk cheeses from the Pyrenees - Onetik Bleu des Basque  and Onetik Ossau Iraty - pair both with Tasman's Harvest Cherries & Sheridans Brown Bread crackers.

Stage 15 Auvergne July 16

Cheese Choice - Bleu de Laqueuille - sweet, salty & creamy blue from the cheese rich region of the Auvergne, pair with Cunliffe & Waters caramelised fig & quince.

Stage 16 - 17Rhone Alpes July 18 - 19

Cheese Choice - Beaufort d'Alpage AOC - the king of mountain hard cheese, sweet & nutty, pair with quince paste & Harper & Blohm wholemeal thins.

Final Stage 21 - Paris July 23

Cheese Choice - Brie Fermier - traditional white mould brie from Ils de France, pair with Valley Seeds cranberry & hazelnut crisps.
