It might be raining in Melbourne today but we're here to help you hold on to the tastes of summer a little longer.
This Saturday from 2-4pm join Kino from El Colmado - an importer and distributor of hand-picked and unique Spanish food and wine - for a delicious (and free!) tasting of cheese and condiments from his homeland.
We'll be trying:
- Viejo Maestro. Originating from Extremadura in Western Spain this semi-soft goats cheese is a full flavoured cheese with a distinctive flavour.
- Picos de Europa (also known as Valdeon). A Spanish blue cheese produced in Valdeon Valley of Castile-Leon region of the northwestern Spain. Made all year round with cow's or goat's milk or a mixture of both, the cheese has very dense blue veining.
- Albala Sheep’s Milk with Rosemary and Honey. With it's firm, smooth paste and its basket-printed rind, this is best described as a young Manchego-style cheese. Meant as a distillation of the land where the sheep graze, it offers aromas of flowers and herbs, and a mild flavor with faint hints of rosemary and lavender.
This selection wouldn't be complete without a drop of Spanish vino, so head next door to Prince Wine Store for a free tasting.
We're also offering 10% off our tasting cheese and condiments, this Saturday only.
We can't wait to see you there.
